It consists primarily of letters written or sent to Edward Hugh Bowen when he was stationed in England with the Canadian Expeditionary Force during World War I, as well as a photograph, hand-written notes on his doctor, and a newspaper obituary notice. The letters were sent by Edward Hugh Bowen to his mother, and others were sent to him by one of his aunts living in East Croydon, England, and by a McTavish from Colborne, Ontario, Davie Mills and Beatrice Thomas. They include information on Ned's military experience, his sickness and family.
