Military Horses Drinking Water

Item is a photograph of military horses lined in a row, drinking water from the St. Francis River near Sherbrooke, thought to be the 13th Scottish Light Dragoons (Waterloo), with Lieutenant Mathias on the white horse.

Train wreck between Waterloo and Warden

Item is a photograph of a train wreck between Waterlook and Warden in 1879. The caption reads: "Wreck between Waterlook & Warden 1879. Engine former C.V. 'Governor Payne', Joseph Clark, 1849-50. Passumpsic, 'Orleans'. Operated in mixed, Sorel to Sutton. S.E.R. train carrying load of granite for the construction of Col. A.B. Foster's home at Waterloo;-- C.W. Foster, gave the signal 'all clear' when the mixed was on the right of way. This event ended his railway career. Engr. John Daly, killed."
