History

Yves Robillard was born 1939 in Farnham. Following his interest in history and culture, he obtained degrees from the Université de Montréal and the Université de Paris X. Robillard went on to become a professor at the Université du Québec à Montréal, where he taught from 1969 to 1998, and played an important role in “counter-culture” and avant-garde art in Quebec. His interest in Baldwin Mills began in 2002 when he began to research some of the early settlers of the area. Robillard died in 2012.
