The fonds contains source material mainly related to Minnie Hallowell Bowen's literary writings, community and political implicatons, and personal life at the turn of the 20th century. Many of her poems relate to local events, to the World Wars, and to Canadian and British politics. The fonds also provides information on the activities of Minnie's family members, including but not limited to: her husband Cecil H. Bowen, her son Lloyd H. Bowen, her daughter Rose Meredyth Bowen, Henry Bowen, Edward Bowen, Eleazar Clark, George Frederick Bowen, John Hallowell, William Bowen, Frank A. It also consists of a complaint filed by William Locker Felton against Alexander Edson, Junior, for non-payment of a mortgage on the north quarter of lot 3, range 2 and the north half of lot 1, range 2 in Barnston, as well as a court summons for the same case. It also consists of a mortgage (1874) and mortgage and obligation (1876) by John Hunter, William Hunter, and Ann Lane Walker to Ernest Maloney for the north half of lot 10, range 2 and the north half of lot 11, range 2 in Barnston.
