The Courchene family inherited the watch from Raymond Wood, husband of Helen (née Parks) Wood. The watch had been given to Helen Parks by her cousin, Henrietta Balfour, daughter of Robert Balfour.

    Scope and content

File consists of four photographs: two photographs of a pocket watch, one with the watch open, one with it closed; one photograph of a handwritten card stating that the watch had been given to Alex Balfour of Lennoxville by Jefferson Davis in payment for a pair of shoes in 1867; and one photograph of a handwritten card with a history of the Kerr-Irwin family of Ireland and their descendants, the Balfour family of Lennoxville.
