The fonds contains four account books of general merchants at Newfane, Vt., for the years 1754 to 1793 inclusive, twenty-five books kept by general merchants at Brome, Knowlton, Stukely, Stanbridge, Bolton and Shipton, for which in most cases the name of the merchant is not recorded but the years are from 1815 to 1890, with 1820-1825 and 1883-1884 missing, and one account book of Dr. Stephen Sewell Foster for the years 1846-1850, who settled at Frost village in 1821, one of the earliest physicians in the Eastern Townships.

The fonds contains information on the butcher shop owned by Leeman Mackey and also on the Mackey family. It consists of several account books (1879-1938), a calendar (1926), a schoolbook (1908), a piano method (1969) and a few photographs (1909 & 1969). The photographs show T.S. Chapman in front of "Good Cheer Lodge" in 1909 and Kathleen Mackey with classmates at the Bishopton Intermediate School in 1969 (the last class before the closure of the school). The school book is autographed "Cora Brown". Among the account books are one for the Megantic Rifle Association (1879-1902), one that appears to be for a boarding house (1889-1892), and the others are from Leeman Mackey's butcher business.

The journals are mostly those of the sons and grandsons of George Allsopp, secretary to Sir Guy Carleton 1768-1775. In the correspondence there are some letters written by George Allsopp. The collection seems to be mostly connected with his son Carleton Allsopp's family and preserved by Carleton's son, John Charles Allsopp who married into the McCorkill family at Farnham. The correspondence, journals, land papers, give most interesting information about how George Allsopp received land grants; on the business of running the seigneuries of Jacques Cartier and d'Auteuil; the education of George Allsopp's sons; the business of the Allsopps in England; life at the Manor House at Cap Santé in the 1830's; the grandsons efforts to protect their interests in the Farnham Lands and the business run by the McCorkills in Farnham over a period of one hundred years.
