The fonds consists of letters sent to McMaster from 1873 to 1888 by businessmen and shopkeepers, municipal councillors or mayors, employees of the Glasgow Canadian Land and Trust Company, men in search of work, and settlers and includes a proposal for building a mill; letters signed by McMaster; and a few other documents. Auger and Adolphe Fournier, respectively, and annotated by Mgr. Gravel; and a text written by Mgr. Maurice O'Bready on the Hale family. The collection contains primary source materials relating to Alberta Everett (née Ross), her family, and the cultural heritage of the Eastern Townships from about the 1920s to 2017. It consists primarily of photographs, audiovisual recordings, and artefacts documenting events and celebrations around Eaton Township (Bulwer, Birchton, Bury), Lennoxville, and Hatley. It also consists of some textual records attesting to the personal lives of Alberta and her family. The collection is comprised of the following series: Family History ([ca. 1920s]- [ca. 1980]), Personal Life (1944-[ca. 1990]), and Townships History ([ca. 1930]-2017).

The fonds contains information on the butcher shop owned by Leeman Mackey and also on the Mackey family. It consists of several account books (1879-1938), a calendar (1926), a schoolbook (1908), a piano method (1969) and a few photographs (1909 & 1969). The photographs show T.S. Chapman in front of "Good Cheer Lodge" in 1909 and Kathleen Mackey with classmates at the Bishopton Intermediate School in 1969 (the last class before the closure of the school). The school book is autographed "Cora Brown". Among the account books are one for the Megantic Rifle Association (1879-1902), one that appears to be for a boarding house (1889-1892), and the others are from Leeman Mackey's butcher business.

The fonds contains source material on urban development of the city of Sherbrooke and on flooding in the area during the latter part of the 19th century and the early 20th century. It consists of 13 individual photographs, a postcard and an album containing 25 photos. The contents of the album include seven photographs taken in Cape Breton and at the Chicago World's Fair. Three of the album's photos were taken by George Johnston and one by Wilbur Burton Finley, both turn-of-the-century Sherbrooke photographers. In the collection as a whole are found views of the Magog and Saint Francis rivers; Dufferin, Lansdowne, Grand Forks and Fairmount streets; bridges; a power station; factories such as the Paton and Jenckes; University of Bishop's College; panoramas of Sherbrooke; an aerial view of Sherbrooke; and flooding in downtown Sherbrooke.

The fonds contains source material on Annie Fergusson's family history, her grandfather Captain Josiah Brown having settled in Windsor in 1805. The documents trace the history of property and financial transactions and lawsuits involving various members of the Brown family who lived in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and later Windsor. The time span covered is the late 17th century to the early 20th century. Most of the records, however, relate to Captain Josiah Brown. The fonds is also of some value as a source of information on the settlement of Windsor, Stoke, and Shipton; and on the Reverend James Fergusson, a minister in Richmond and Windsor in the late 19th century. The fonds consists mainly of sales agreements, correspondence, wills, accounting records, promissory notes, estate inventories, summonses, legal documents, lists of titles, and biographical and genealogical notes. The collection contains source material on the history of the Bieber family and material on the Eastern Townships, Canada, England and the two world wars. It consists of four albums of postcards and seven scrapbooks containing press clippings, correspondence, photographs, booklets, greeting cards and recipes. Included among the scrapbooks is one complied by Arthur Bieber during his World War II (WWII) military service. Most of the postcards are from Europe, only a few relate to the Eastern Townships. Many were sent or received by Arthur H.H. Bieber and therefore constitute items of correspondence. The clippings in the scrapbooks are mainly related to the Eastern Townships, with some on other topics.
