It consists of photocopies of press clippings on railways and the Great Lakes Waterway; a copy of Bill 98, the Act Respecting the Cobourg, Northumberland and Pacific Railway Company, passed by the House of Commons in the 1890s; a prospectus and an application form related to the issuing of debentures by the Cobourg, Northumberland and Pacific Railway Company in 1898; a draft contract, dated 1898, between Cecil H. Bowen, Reuben W. Leonard and John D. Cameron for the building of the railway; and correspondence, notes, and estimates related to the railway and to the construction of a line between Newington in Sherbrooke and Tobins Mills. One letter is addressed to Frank Grundy, Manager of the Quebec Central Railway in Sherbrooke. The file also includes a map showing the route of the Cobourg, Northumberland and Pacific Railway Company and its connections.
