The fonds contains of research done by W. Gillies Ross on the following subjects: the mines at Eustis, Capelton and Albert Mines, asbestos mining at Asbestos, the 1918 Spanish Flu epidemic, the Stanstead granite industry, and covered bridges in the Eastern Townships and surrounding areas. It consists largely of research notes, research documents, photographs, and oral histories. Aeneas McMaster fonds

The fonds contains source material mainly on railway development and settlement in Clinton, Hampden, Ditton, and Marston townships in Compton County and around Lake Megantic from 1873 to 1888 and on the role of the Glasgow Canadian Land and Trust Company, managed at the time by Aeneas McMaster. The fonds consists of letters sent to McMaster from 1873 to 1888 by businessmen and shopkeepers, municipal councillors or mayors, employees of the Glasgow Canadian Land and Trust Company, men in search of work, and settlers and includes a proposal for building a mill; letters signed by McMaster; and a few other documents. The fonds is comprised of the following series: Railway Companies (1876-1888), Settlement (1873-1876), Municipal Affairs (1873-1881), Miscellaneous Documents (1875-1881) and Correspondance (1876-1882).

Aleta and Leeman Mackey fonds

The fonds contains information on the butcher shop owned by Leeman Mackey and also on the Mackey family. It consists of several account books (1879-1938), a calendar (1926), a schoolbook (1908), a piano method (1969) and a few photographs (1909 & 1969). The photographs show T.S. Chapman in front of "Good Cheer Lodge" in 1909 and Kathleen Mackey with classmates at the Bishopton Intermediate School in 1969 (the last class before the closure of the school). The school book is autographed "Cora Brown". Among the account books are one for the Megantic Rifle Association (1879-1902), one that appears to be for a boarding house (1889-1892), and the others are from Leeman Mackey's butcher business.
