In the photograph you can see Charles Stratton, Lavinia Warren, Minnie Warren and George Washington Morris Nutt, all posing in studio decor. They were all entertainers for P.T. Barnum. Charles Stratton (1838-1883), known as General Tom Thumb, eventually married Lavinia Warren in 1863. There is a postage stamp at the back as well as "With compliments" signatures from all four persons.

Many of them were taken by Eli Hoskins Taber, who had a studio photo in Montreal with his older brother Abner Bedee Taber until 1866. He later moved his studio in Waterloo. Her daughter Caroline Annie (Carrie) Taber married Walter Byron Neill and the family moved West of Canada, along with Carrie's widowed mother Marian Ellen Hall.
