The fonds contains source material on the history of the Cochrane Cemetery and on the work of the restoration committee. It consists of documentary materials of various kinds, including photographs, press clippings, minutes, financial statements, list of persons buried in the Cemetery, correspondence, and photocopies of deeds of sale dating from 1802, 1803, 1864, and 1919. These materials are all gathered into a report in nine parts (Our work, Summary, Numerical list, Mailing #1, Mailing #2, Mailing #3, Final Mailing, Minutes of meetings).

The fonds contains source material on the Scottish emigration to the Eastern Townships. It consists of a four-volume unpublished study entitled Celts of Compton County; eight interviews with descendants of Scots settlers; a map showing the 'Pionneer Scotch Settlements in Compton County'; and a list of materials deposited with the Compton County Historical Museum Society by the Celtic Research Group. 'Celts of Compton County' includes photocopies of pictures, photographs, maps, press clippings, and old textual records. The fonds contains source material on the administrative activities and on the membership of the Huntingville Universalist Church from 1866 to 1964 and 2004. It consists of minutes (1866-1964), a register containing the Church's constitution, a list of members (1868-1942), a baptismal certificate in the name of Frederick Kenneth Mallory (1892) and a programme (2004). The membership register in some instances shows the members' addresses, the sacrament received, the pastor who administered it, and the date it was performed. There are also general remarks, sometimes specifying the dates of members' death. The fonds also includes a photocopy of a photograph of Rev. Mary Lamson Joy Hadley, minister at Huntingville from 1913 to 1915.

The fonds consists of letters sent to McMaster from 1873 to 1888 by businessmen and shopkeepers, municipal councillors or mayors, employees of the Glasgow Canadian Land and Trust Company, men in search of work, and settlers and includes a proposal for building a mill; letters signed by McMaster; and a few other documents.
