CCHMS Graphic Material Collection
The collection consists of source material from people and places in and around the Eastern Townships of Quebec. It contains mostly photographs and sketches of residents of this area, as well as material on industry, education, medicine, religion, and recreation in the Townships. The collection includes 175 photographs, 42 sketches, 16 postcards, 2 paintings, and 1 map.
Collection presents information on the life, particularly religious life, of Gilles Baril, priest, in Coaticook and areas in Sherbrooke and East Angus, from about the 1980s to 2005. It consists of a biography, titled “Une vie arc-en-ciel”, on the first part of Gilles Baril’s personal and religious life and a number of musical recordings used in the course of church activities and services.

The collection presents the history of people who made the news and of events underlined between 1950 and 2017 in Coaticook and its region through its local weekly newpaper Le Progrès de Coaticook. It consists of original newspapers and some reproductions, photographs, contact-sheets, and negatives of the newspaper. Collection contains information on the Dixville, Crooker, and Marsh Cemetery Association from 1946 to 1981 and on the Coaticook Area Senior Citizens Sunshine 50+ Club from 1975 to 2000. It consists primarily of a receipts and disbursements ledger, minutes, correspondance, press clippings, and correspondence. Eastern Townships Aerial Photographs collection
The collection contains mainly source material on the geography and landscapes of the Eastern Townships from Energy, Mines & Resources, Government of Canada, from 1933 to 1978. It covers the counties of Richmond, Sherbrooke, Compton, Frontenac, Shefford, Drummond, Brome, Stanstead, Missisquoi and Megantic. It also covers the areas of Thetford, Upton, Verchères, Richelieu, Montreal, Sorel, Joliette, Berthier, Ste. Marie, Quebec city, Portneuf, Lotbinière, Chateauguay and the county of Rouville. It also contains aerial photographs by Photograph Surveys Inc. carried out in 1956 and 1957, which are largely of industrial areas of Sherbrooke and, in particular, Ingersoll-Rand. Aerial photographs provide direct visual evidence of the landscape and a three dimensional view of the earth and its features that is not available from ground level. It consists of aerial photographs and maps.
Collection presents information on the community of Coaticook from 1932 to 1987. It consists of scrapbooks largely composed of newspaper clippings (obituaries and other articles), but including a photograph Lilian Cloutier, invitiations, and cards.

The collection contains source material on the history of the Asbestos region and on the development of the asbestos industry in the 19th and 20th centuries; it is also a source of information on the Johns-Manville Corporation, the life of William G. Clark, and includes an architectural sketch of the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Asbestos from 1945. Among the materials are memoirs written by William G. Clark on his life and the town of Asbestos. Collection Magella Baillargeon
Collection presents information on the production activities of the Penman's factory in Coaticook from 1894 to 1900. It consists of an inventory ledger, which was probably used to record the quantity of cotton thread and dye colours used in production. The ledger is also a source of information on the finances of Lucien and Magella Beaulieu from 1961 to 1962.
Collection illustrates the architectural work of Ozias Leduc, sports in Coaticook, the Festival du Lait, and early inventors in Barnston. It consists of research, correspondence, and baseball score sheets. Collection presents information on St-Herménégilde from 1892 to 1950. It consists of visitor registers for the No. 9 school in the St-Herménégilde school board from 1892 to 1906; a handwritten history of the parish in St-Herménégilde on the occaison of its 75th anniversary in 1950; and newspaper clippings on Joseph Otis, Curé A. Tremblay, the marriage of M.A. Coulombe et Cora Tremblay, and rum baron Pierre St. Pierre. The school visitor registers are also a source informaton on the students attending the school, subjects taught, and schedules.
