Les films et les vidéos sont des copies de reportages diffusés dans des bulletins de nouvelles ou des entrevues promotionnelles faites lors d'émissions de variétés. Les documents qui composent ce fonds traitent de la carrière de Pierre Horace Boivin sur la scène municipale granbyenne. De l'époque où il occupe le poste de premier magistrat à celle où il se consacre aux relations publiques, Horace Boivin montre une préoccupation constante pour le développement industriel et la promotion de sa ville. La série qui concerne le jumelage de Granby avec des villes européennes, africaines, américaines et ontariennes, de même que celles traitant des missions industrielles à l'étranger et de la prospection industrielle, exposent l'envergure internationale des démarches effectuées par Horace Boivin pour faire connaître Granby. C'est toutefois dans les dossiers de la série " commissariat industriel " que le chercheur pourra constater la dimension du personnage à travers les liens qu'il entretenait avec les ambassades, les consulats et autres organismes gouvernementaux. Même si Horace Boivin a joué un rôle moins actif dans le développement de Granby dans les dernières années de sa vie, la consultation des documents qui composent la série des relations publiques montre qu'il s'est préoccupé de l'image de Granby jusqu'à son décès. Quant à la série sur le jardin zoologique, elle expose l'intérêt que Horace Boivin a toujours eu pour l'organisme qu'il a fondé en 1945. Les photographies et les diapositives du fonds ont été prises à des fins promotionnelles, bien que plusieurs présentent maintenant un intérêt historique. Finalement, les nombreux témoignages honorifiques adressés à Horace Boivin et ses discours relatifs à sa vie privée ont été rassemblés dans la série " documents personnels ".
