Among the postcards are images of boats on Lake Memphremagog, Lake Champlain, Red River (Winnipeg, Man.), the Great Lakes, the St. Lawrence River, Saskatchewan River (Alberta), Kootenay Lake (B.C.), Peace River, Athabaska River, and in Vancouver and other places in British Columbia, among others. Many of the postcards include messages addressed to George B. Naylor and B.V. Naylor as well as a few to Mrs. M.L. Abbott, Mrs. A.H. Derick, Samuel Abbott.

The file contains information on various boats, largely on the Richelieu River, from around the 1870s to the 1910s. Included among the boats pictured are the Island Queen, the Ojibway, the Missisquoi, a schooner captained by W. Montgomery, the Daisy, an unidentified barge, the Windsor, and the Majestic. Also pictured is the Richelieu Bridge and possibly St. Johns wharf.
