        History

The Memorial Hospital for Tuberculosis was created in 1925 by the Municipal Chapter of Sherbrooke of the Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire. As the name makes clear, the Hospital was dedicated to the struggle against tuberculosis. In 1925, the Municipal Chapter incorporated the Hospital. Management was by a nine-member Board of Directors, which was required to submit an annual report for approval by the Municipal Chapter. In 1936, the Hospital was handed over to the Canadian Legion in Sherbrooke.
