Name of creator
Hazel Benner was born 10 October 1912 in Ontario to William J. Benner and Lovina Burton. Graduated from nursing from the Belleville General Hospital in 1940. She passed away 4 January 2008.
Following Hazel Benner's death, the documents were kept by her close friend, Kathy Jones, until they were donated to the ETRC.
Scope and content
The fonds contains primary source information on the professional and personal life of Hazel Benner from 1940 to 2008. It consists largely of photographs from her time serving as a missionary in Esperanza, British Columbia, photographs from her work with Children's Evangelism Fellowship and religious work in the Eastern Townships. It also includes information on her family, guestbooks from her home, correspondence, and albums from her 90th Birthday and the celebration of her 45th year of service. It contains the following series: Photographs ([194-?] - [2007?]), Guest Books (1961-2007), Correspondence (1983-2007), 45 Years of Service (1996), 90th Birthday (2002), Order of Funeral Service and ID card ([197?] - 2008) and Press Clippings (1946, 1997).
