Name of creator
The Golden Rule Chapter, No. 1, is noted for being one of the oldest Masonic lodges in Quebec that was established in the first half of the nineteenth century. Like all other Chapters, it sought to instill goodwill and acceptances among its members, regardless of their religious or political views, as well as help to maintain order along the Canadian border during the tumultuous warring periods of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Between the years of 1982 and 1983, the Lively Stone, Holyrood and Friendship chapters amalgamated with the Golden Rule Chapter as they were struggling with low member numbers and financial troubles.
The documents were maintained by the Lodge until they were donated in 2011.
