The file consists of one register of the Board of Examiners of Stanstead County from 1862 to 1888; two reports on examinations by the Protestant Division of the Board of Examiners for Elementary Diploma dated May and November 1880; and a diploma for Common Schools, dated 5 November 1867, granted to Henry E. Rankin by the Board of Examiners of Sherbrooke. The file provides information on results on tests and examinations. It contains data on candidates for the teaching profession, such as names, ages, nationalities, addresses, religion, degrees, classes of diploma to obtain, subjects, as well as the names of the Curé or Minister who attested to the candidates' good morals and religious instruction.
